Summary:
To prepare and provide accurate estimating for all phases of commercial construction projects by gathering and analyzing information.
The ideal candidate will have excellent numerical skills and an analytical mindset.
You must be thorough and apt in managing relationships with key persons.
Field supervision experience is a plus.
Estimating and Project Knowledge:
Analyze requirement documents, blueprints and project plans to gain a thorough understanding of the project Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and final estimates for projects of varied size Determining what factors of production will influence the cost of a service or product Estimate labor and materials for self-performed items Develop and maintain relationships with company vendors and subcontractors Has a thorough understanding of the scope for specific trades assigned Understands the size/scope of project(s) and corresponding subcontractor or supplier capability to perform Manage bids from vendors and subcontractors Performs a comprehensive bid day analysis and scoping of specific assigned trades Creates bid lists that fit scope of job Aggressively minimizes exclusions Submits value-engineering ideas Compensation:
Salary will be commensurate with experience and education.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Proven experience as estimator or similar position Familiarity with analyzing requirement data to develop material and cost estimates for large projects Ability to read and interpret technical documents Exceptional time management skills Exquisite math and IT ability with an analytical mindset Outstanding communication and negotiation abilities Thoroughness and reliability Strong written and oral communication, interpersonal, organization and negotiating skills Excellent computer skills with an emphasis on Microsoft Office Products Extensive knowledge of industry practices, procedures and market trends Education and/or
Experience:
Minimum of five (5) years of verifiable experience.
Experience in all types of commercial construction management and estimating.
A Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Finance, Accounting or Project Management or similar field is preferred.
Experience and a high degree of competency may offset some degree requirements.
